I was really excited to have the opportunity to race on the Brands GP circuit. After a day of testing, we made good progress and felt positive going into the race weekend.
I qualified 17th, which I was happy with, and our pace was promising.
Race 1: I had an average start and lost a few places, but I managed to stick with the pack and was constantly improving on my lap time. I made up a few of the places which I had lost, but due to a mistake, I lost a place towards the end of the race, which I was frustrated with. This meant I finished 18th.
Race 2: It started to rain just before race 2, so I was a bit nervous before going out, and my dad made a last-minute setup change, so we were sitting in suspense as to whether it would work! I had a very good start and got past quite a few people; however, the rain stopped, and we had a full wet setup. For the first few laps, we were struggling a bit with pace, but then luckily for us the rain started to come down heavily, so the set-up change paid off. My pace improved significantly and was a lot quicker than those around me. I finished this race 16th. So overall, a strong weekend.
